Athletics Hall of Famer Precious Morris Caldwell New Women's Coach at Richland Northeast

Richland Northeast High School has hired a new head girls' basketball coach.  Precious Morris-Caldwell will join the Richland Northeast High team in July, not only as a coach but also as a physical education teacher.  Morris-Caldwell currently holds the same positions at Eau Claire High School.  There, she has coached her teams to five regional championships.  Morris-Caldwell has also coached basketball at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, Edisto High School, Elloree High School and Claflin College.  She has also served as a track and field coach.

 “The Cavalier Family is proud to welcome Coach Morris-Caldwell. We believe she will be successful in building our team on and off the court,” said Principal Sabrina Suber.

 Morris-Caldwell is the youngest of seven siblings. She attended Timmonsville High School, where she played basketball and graduated in 1988. Her accomplishments while at Timmonsville include: All-State selection twice, Burger King North and South ALL-STAR selection, State's Best, Most Valuable Player and High School jersey retired in 2010. During her collegiate years Precious was a four year letter winner for Coach Nelson Brownlee's Lady Panthers who made two runner-up appearences in the NAIA NationalWomen's Basketball Championship Tournament.   Precious was also inducted into the Claflin University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

She holds a bachelor of science in Health and Physical Education from Claflin College in Orangeburg, SC.  In 2011, she was inducted into the Clafin College Athletic Hall of Fame. She has two sons, A.J. and Alex.
