Claflin Baseball Host Albany State in SIAC Opening Series

Orangeburg, SC--The Claflin University baseball team will host Albany State this weekend, Sat and Sunday, March 12 and 13, in its 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Opener. The three game series will feature a double-header on Saturday and single game on Sunday.

First pitch on Saturday and Sunday is set for 1 p.m. at Historic Mirmow Field in Orangeburg.

Claflin enters the weekend with a 7-16 overall record. The Panthers are led offensively by Reginald Rogers and Jabari Brown, who are batting .332 and .312, respectively.

Albany State enters the weekend with a 1-21 overall record after falling to Georgia Southwestern in their last outing.

The Panthers will host Clark Atlanta next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20 in a SIAC three-game series.
