Claflin Baseball Travels to Morehouse for a SIAC Three-Game Series

Orangeburg, S.C.--The Claflin University Panthers baseball team will hit the road to Atlanta, Ga. this weekend, Friday-Saturday, March 25-26, to take on the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference three-game series. First pitch for Friday's doubleheader is set for 12 noon while Saturday's single game is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch. All games will be played at Perkerson Park in Atlanta.

Claflin, who enters the series with an 11-18 overall record and 4-2 in the SIAC, has won their three-of-four contest, including a three-game conference sweep of Clark Atlanta last weekend (March 19-20). Michael Kendrick, who has seen action in 14 contests, is batting .353 for the Panthers. Reginald Rogers, who has started in 27-of-29 games, is batting .333 for Claflin who has a team batting average of .367 on the season.

Jesse Minter is the top run producer for Claflin with 25 runs and Jabari Brown leads the team in hits with 31 total.

Morehouse enters the weekend with a 12-15 overall record and 0-6 in the SIAC. The Maroon Tigers lost all three games of its SIAC conference series to Albany State last weekend. Ryan Christian leads Morehouse in batting, averaging .376. He is also the top offensive producer for the Maroon Tigers with 27 runs off 32 hits.

The Panthers will return home Wednesday, March 30 when they host Coker College in a 6 p.m. non-conference contest.
