Claflin Falls to Clayton State 64-75 in Basketball Action

Box Score Clayton State University (2-1) handed Claflin University (3-3) a 64-75 loss in basketball action, in Morrow, GA on Saturday evening.

Cold shooting from the floor in the first half, scoring just 16 points in opening 20 minutes of play, shooting 24 percent from the field 7-29 and 0-10 from behind the three point line, made it difficult for the Panthers to come back.  Due to the lack of scoring the basketball Claflin went into the break, down 16-30. Claflin managed to outscore Clayton State in the second half 48-45, increasing their shooting percentage to 41 percent.   
 
Charles Shedrick led all scorers with 24 points, and nine rebounds for Clayton State, followed by Sidarius Henry with 19 points, and nine rebounds.

The Panthers were led by Jarrod Denard with 13 points, Herald Warren's 12 points, and Marcellus Dunn with 11 points.

The Panthers will take some time off to get ready for final exams, before returning to action December 3rd at the University of West Alabama, for a 7:00 pm contest.
