Claflin Men Fall to Elizabeth City in Non-Conference Game

Orangeburg, S.C.--Patrell Rogers scored a game-high 29 points as the Claflin University Panthers fell to Elizabeth City, 76-80, in a non-conference game in Tullis Arena.  With the loss, the Panthers drop to 4-6 on the season.
 
Claflin outscored Elizabeth City, 46-40 in the second half, but could not rebound from the 10 point half-time deficit.  The Vikings pushed its lead to 18 with just over nine minutes remaining in the contest, but the Panthers hot shooting from three-point range aided in cutting into the deficit.   Adolph Caldwell drained four of his five three's in the second half, including one at with seven seconds left decrease the margin to three, 76-79.  Elizabeth City's Kyree Marshall hit a free-throw with five seconds remaining to secure the four-point victory for the Vikings. 
 
Elizabeth City led 40-30 at the half.
 
The Panthers finished the game with three double-figure scorers as Caldwell scored 18 and Kendall Jackson contributed 10 in the loss.  Fare'al Walker pulled in a game-high 10 rebounds for the Claflin, who outrebounded the Vikings by three, 35-32.
 
Elizabeth City was led by Glenn Patterson and Miykael Faulcon with 20 each.  DeCarlos Anderson scored 13 and Marshall added 10, including 8-of-10 from free-throw range.  Darrell Ward pulled in nine rebounds for the Vikings who improved to 5-5 on the season.
 
Claflin will return to action, this Saturday, Dec. 6 when they host Clayton State in a 3:30 p.m. non-conference game.
 
Game Notes: Elizabeth City led 40-30 at the half…Patrell Rogers shot 10-14 from the charity stripe.
