Claflin Falls to Lane by Two, 53-55, in SIAC Men’s Basketball Contest

Jackson, Tenn.—The Claflin University men's basketball team battled to the end but fell just short, dropping a two-point road decision to Lane College, falling 53-55 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).  With the loss the Panthers fall to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in the SIAC.
 
Claflin had three players to finish in double-figures led by Adolph Caldwell with 15.  Ryan McNeill-Moses scored 10 points with nine rebounds while Patrell Rogers came off the bench to score 10 points for the Panthers.  Karee Watson came off the bench to drop in seven points and pull in six rebounds in the loss.
 
Lane, who improves to 3-6 overall and 2-1 in the SIAC, was led by Terrance Bridgeman who scored a game-high 19 points.  Donald Stewart scored 14 points with nine rebounds and Brandon Zachery added 10 points for the Dragons in the win.
 
Claflin, who led 29-28 at the half, shot 68.2 percent from the charity-stripe.
 
The Panthers will close out its three-game road swing Monday, Jan. 12 when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take Stillman College in a SIAC matchup.  Claflin will host SIAC newcomer Spring Hill College next Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Tullis Arena.
