Gaffney, S.C.--Adolph Caldwell came off the bench to score 14 of his game high 20 points in the second half, as the Claflin University men's basketball team snapped its seven game losing streak with a 66-56 win over Limestone.

The win pushes the Panthers to 3-7 overall.  The Saints fall to 3-9 on the season.

Claflin had three players to finish in double-figures as Patrell Rogers and De'Shon Nails scored 13 apiece.  Austin Lawton came one point shy of recorded a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds.  Ryan McNeill-Moses also pulled in 10 rebounds (all defensive) and Nails pulled down six boards in the win.

Limestone was led by Shaq Dance who finished with 19 points, 17 in the first half and seven rebounds.  Tim Straughter scored 10 points with five rebounds while Teron Wallace scored six points for the Saints in the loss.

A three-pointer by Rogers opened the second half, knotting the game at 34-all.  A quick three-pointer by Justin Crowder gave the Saints the lead once again, but the Panthers quickly countered.  A layup by Karee Watson followed by two free-throws by Caldwell gave Claflin two point advantage with 17:16 remaining.

A jumper by Floyd Brolin tied for the game for the third time, 39-39, with 17:01 left in the game.  A three-pointer by Caldwell gave Claflin the lead for good (42-39).  Limestone managed to pull with one point, 46-45 with 10:27 remaining but Claflin remained poised.  The Panthers went on a 13-4 run over the next five minutes to take their largest lead of the contest, 10, 49-59, with 5:11 left in the game.  The Saints cut the lead to seven twice late in the game but the Panthers proved to be the better team, winning by the 10 point margin.

Claflin jumped out to a 7-3 to start the game.  After Limestone took a brief 8-7 lead, the Panthers offense picked up once again.  Claflin put together an 8-2 run to go ahead by five, 15-10.  The Panthers would lead by as many as six, 18-12 before Limestone's offense got going again.  The Saints used a 16-6 run to take the 28-24 lead with 3:24 remaining in the half.  Limestone closed the first half on an overall 22-13 run to take the three point advantage into intermission, 34-31.

The Panthers will have the next 11 days off from competition for the Christmas holiday.  Claflin will host Winston-Salem State on Thursday, December 31 in their final non-conference game of the season.  Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. in Tullis Arena.
