Claflin Falls to Miles in SIAC Softball Tournament

Lady Panthers Finish Third in the SIAC

Hampton, Ga.—The Claflin University softball team could not find much offense as they fell to Miles College, 13-0, in the third place game at the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) tournament.  With the loss, the Lady Panthers finish the season with a 33-22 overall record.
 
Claflin fell behind early as Miles used four hits with two Lady Panther errors to put seven runs on the board in the bottom of the first.  The Golden Bears scored one run in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth en route to its 13 runs in the contest.
 
The Lady Panthers could only manage three hits over the five innings.  LaKaylin Lee, Kayla Cato and Tiaria Norman each knocked out a hit.
 
Jasmine Langston paced Miles with two runs off two hits and two RBI's.
 
Shaquailla German was the losing pitcher for Claflin while Talana Brown picked up the win for Miles.
