Claflin Holds Off Tuskegee in SIAC Men's Basketball Action

Tuskegee, Ala.-- The Claflin University men's Basketball team defeated Tuskegee University 49-48, in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) men's basketball contest.
 
With its fourth straight win, the Panthers improve to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the SIAC.
 
Ryan McNeill-Moses and Austin Lawton finished the game with 10 points each to lead Claflin. 
 
Lawton, this week SIAC Player of the Week, pulled in a game-high nine rebounds with four blocks.
 
Benjamin "Tre" Williams contributed eight points with a game-high nine rebounds and Albert "Trey" Miller came off the bench to drop in seven points in the win.
 
Tuskegee (1-11, 0-3 SIAC), who did not have any players to finish in double figures, was led in scoring by Elijah McMillian with nine points.  McMillian also had six rebounds in the contest.
 
Daniel Roach, Travis Flagg, and Joshua Culver each scored eight points in the loss. Culver led the Golden Tigers in rebounding with eight.
 
In a game where neither team led by more than five points, Claflin owned a slim two point advantage at the half, 29-27.
 
The Panthers will travel to Birmingham, Ala. on Wednesday (Jan. 4) to face Miles College in a SIAC contest.
