Claflin Softball Drops Two at USC Aiken

Aiken, S.C.—The Claflin University softball team had late game rallies in both games of the non-conference doubleheader with USC Aiken but came up short, falling in game one 8-7 and in game two 5-6.
 
It took a walk-off double in game one and a pass ball in game two to secure the wins for USC Aiken, who improved to 7-3-1 on the season.
 
Claflin, who had 19 combined hits, falls to 5-7 overall.
 
Sophomore Chelise Morman had identical stat lines in game one and two.  She finished 2-for-4 with one run and 2 RBIs in both games.
 
Senior Chelsea Hall was solid in game one, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.  She had three stolen bases in the contest.
 
Sophomore Kayla Cato finished the day with two hits, including a run scoring triple in game one, two runs and two RBIs.
 
Tiaria Norman was the loser of game one while Shaquailla German went six innings in picking up the loss in game two.
 
USC Aiken was led by Lyndie Dorgan at the plate and on the mound in game one.  Dorgan had four runs with one hit while going all seven innings in picking up the win to lead USC Aiken by.
 
Chandler Terrapin scored two runs with two hits and two RBIs to lead USC Aiken in game two.
 
Hannah Price earned the win for the Pacers in game two, going five innings and allowing five earned runs.
 
Claflin will return to action this Wednesday, March 1 when they host Augusta University in a non-conference doubleheader.  First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the Adden Street Field.
