Claflin Spilt Non-conference Softball Doubleheader with Lander

Greenwood, S.C. – The Claflin University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Lander, falling in game on 3-0 and winning game two 7-4.
 
With the win, the Lady Panthers record moves to 2-8.  Lander goes to 9-1 on the season.
 
Despite having seven hits and eight on the pads in game one, Claflin could not get any runners across home plate.
 
LaKaylin Lee reached base on four times in the game, via two hits and two walks.
 
Claflin managed to capitalize on its base runners in game two.  The Lady Panthers used nine hits and three walks to score its seven runs in the game two win.
 
Lee continued to be the top offensive threat for the Lady Panthers with two runs off two hits and a walk in the contest.
 
Norman's bat came to life in the second game as she finished with two runs, two hits – including a grand slam homerun, and four RBIs.
 
Caitlin Mills contributed two hits in the win.
 
Norman went 1-1 on the mound today for the Claflin.
 
The Lady Panthers will return to action this Tuesday, Feb. 20, when they host Coker College in a 1p.m. doubleheader at Adden Street Field in Orangeburg.
