PITTSBURG, KS - All the hard work comes down to this as Claflin freshman sprinter Zoe Adams will compete in the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet, Friday afternoon. She will be competing in the women's 400m dash which begins at 5:20 p.m.
 
Earning the opportunity to compete for a national championship is an extraordinary honor for Adams and the rest of the competitors at the meet. She was one of only 270 women to earn the opportunity to compete in the championship meet. Student-athletes qualified for the championship meet by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. The qualifying time for the 2022 women's 400m dash was 56.80, a time that Adams surpassed with a 56.38, which she ran to claim the 2022 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship. Her time remains the top time in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region and it earned her an 18^th rank in the nation. Student-athletes with the top 20 times in the nation were selected to compete at the national championship meet.
 
The 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet will be held at the Harvey Dean Track and is hosted by Pittsburg State University. The meet can be seen live at www.NCAA.com. Adams is currently slated to compete in the second heat of the preliminary round of the event with the top eight finishers advancing to the event finals on Saturday.
