Lady Panthers Take an 11-0 Win Over Livingstone for 10th Straight Victory

ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (12-8, 10-0 CIAA) rolled to their 10th straight win when the team took an 11-0 win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (0-8, 0-8 CIAA), Friday afternoon. The Lady Panthers had some great play in every aspect of the game to claim the win.
 
The Lady Panthers combined a strong day at the plate with some great defense to claim the win. As a team, the Lady Panthers totaled nine hits in the game. Eight different Lady Panthers recorded hits in the game, including junior short stop Jaelyn Jackson who went two-for-three with two runs scored in the game. Senior first base Shaniya Thomas added a pair of RBI in the game as well.
 
The Lady Panthers wasted little time as the team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Lady Panthers jumped out with eight first inning runs before adding a second inning run and a pair of third inning runs to finish out the win.
 
In addition to a great day at the plate, the Lady Panthers also had a terrific pitching performance. Senior Bre'Zhay Chambers (5-4). She pitched four innings and recorded eight strikeouts in the game. Junior Jaelyn Jackson came in to finish out the win. She recorded three strikeouts in her only inning of action.
 
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 12-8 overall and remain a perfect 10-0 in CIAA play. The team will return to action, tomorrow afternoon when they host the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls on Senior Day.
