Obanla Named Food Lion CIAA Defensive Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC - Claflin senior forward
Zion Obanla got a hot start to the 2024-25 season and it paid off when he was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, Tuesday afternoon.
The honor came for his work in three games for the Panthers. For the week, he totaled 23 total rebounds with two steals. He also scored a combined 23 points, including a double-double 13 points and 15 rebounds at Lincoln Memorial University.
