Claflin's Riley, 4x400m Relay Selected for 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - For the second straight year, the Claflin Panthers will take their spot on the national stage as several members of the team have been selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Track & Field National Championship Meet. Claflin sophomore sprinter Jaevon Riley and the Panthers' 4x400m relay team were selected to compete in the meet, Tuesday evening.
 
Riley will be making his second trip to the national championship meet. For the second straight season, he will compete in the men's 400m hurdles after running a 51.69 at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet. He will enter the event as the 15th seed. Last season, Riley placed 17th in the men's 400m hurdles prelims at the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet with a 53.89.
 
The Panthers' 4x400m relay team has also been selected to compete at the national championship meet. The team earned their spot after running a 3:09.30 at the Lee Last Chance Meet in Cleveland, Tennessee. The time earned the team a spot in the national championship meet as the 13th seed. The team consists of Riley, senior Chandar Anderson, sophomore Jonathan Flemister, and junior Zion Murry.
 
The 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet will run from Thursday, May 23rd to Saturday, May 25th at Welch Stadium and is hosted by Emporia State University.
