Jaevon Riley saved his best performance for when it mattered most as he placed sixth in the men's 400m hurdles finals at the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet, Saturday afternoon. When he was faced with the biggest challenge of his collegiate career, Riley responded by placing sixth at the event and recording the best time of his career against the best in the nation.
Riley stepped up his efforts in a major way. When the dust settled, he ran a personal best 51.13 for a sixth-place finish. The time was the best of his collegiate career, beating his previous best time of 51.69, which he ran at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet.
The stellar performance wraps up the 2024 outdoor track & field season for Riley and the rest of the Claflin Panthers. For more information on Claflin University Office of Athletics Media Relations at (803) 535-5548 or log on to
