TAMPA, FL - The Claflin Panthers (3-2) had to dig deep to claim a thrilling 102-99 double-overtime victory over the Davenport Panthers (3-2) at the Tampa Thanksgiving Tournament. The Panthers utilized a balanced attack to claim the victory.
The Panthers had to put on a strong offensive effort to match their hot-shooting opponents. As a team, the Panthers shot a solid 42.3% (33-of-78) in the game. Six Claflin players reached double-digit scoring in the win with junior guard
Ramere Draper leading the way. He finished the game with 17 points in the game. Fellow junior guard
Horace Jacques, Jr. added 16 points with eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals as well. Junior guard Justine Mims and sophomore forward
Alex Atkinson added 16 points and a blocked shot in the game as well. Senior guard
Cristian Sanon scored 11 points while junior guard
Braylon Jackson added 10 points.
