Claflin Athletics Hits a 3.35 Department GPA
ORANGEBURG, SC - While the fall semester saw some terrific performances on the courts, on the trails, on the diamonds, and in the weight room, the Claflin University student-athletes were also busy making strides in the classroom. This fall, the Claflin University student-athletes generated a combined 3.35 grade-point average for the department. The GPA came as a result of some terrific efforts by the Lady Panthers and Panthers this fall.
In all seven Claflin University teams recorded 3.0 or higher GPAs. The Lady Panthers softball team led the way with a 3.55 team GPA while the Lady Panthers basketball team was close behind with a 3.50 GPA. The Lady Panthers volleyball team and the Panthers men's basketball teams both recorded 3.39 GPAs while the Lady Panthers track & field team added a 3.31 GPA. The Panthers baseball team recorded a 3.25 GPA while the Panthers track & field team rounded out the effort with a 3.20 GPA.
Individually, 16 Claflin University student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs this fall.
