Claflin 4x400m Relay Runs Qualifying Time at Clemson Opener
CLEMSON, SC - The Claflin Panthers men's indoor track & field team kicked off the 2025-26 season with some great performances at the Clemson Opener. The team got the season started on a high note with some great performances at the meet.
On the track, the Panthers had some standout performances. The Panthers' 4x400m relay team stole the show with a 3:12.05 to place fifth at the meet and recorded the top time in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Claflin senior
Jakarriez Sanders won the men's 1000m run with a 2:31.84. Claflin senior sprinter
Romar Stapleton placed 13
th in the men's 60m dash with a 6.96.
In field events, junior
Javonta Simon led the way when he placed sixth in the men's triple jump with a 44'4.75" (13.53m) mark. He also recorded a 6'3.25" (1.91m) mark in the men's high jump.
