Flemister Named CIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Year
CHARLOTTE, NC - A season's worth of hard work has paid off when Claflin senior sprinter
Jonathan Flemister was named the 2024-25 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. After becoming not only one of the top sprinters in the CIAA, but also in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region and the nation.
It was Flemister's performance in sprint events that brought home the honor. He led the CIAA in the men's 60m dash with a 6.80 at the 2024 Liberty Kickoff. He also ranked second in the men's 200m dash with a 21.30 at the Carolina Challenge. He's also a member of the Panthers' 4x400m relay team that leads the CIAA with a 3:13.74. He is ranked sixth in the region in the 60m dash, third in the 200m dash and the Panthers' 4x400m relay is first in the region. Nationally, he is ranked 13
th in the men's 200m dash.
Flemister and the Panthers are seeking their third straight CIAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
