Four Panthers Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA - A season of hard work has paid off for the Claflin Panthers when four members of the men's indoor track & field team were named to the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team. The quartet earned the honor after ranking among the top five in the NCAA Division II Atlantic region in their respective events. In all four Panthers were honored across four events.
 
The Panthers' 4x400m relay team highlighted the list as the top team in the region. The team of junior Jaevon Riley, junior Jonathan Flemister, senior Zion Murry, and junior Reginald Gore ran a 3:12.18 at the USC Invite to post the top time in the region.
 
In addition to the relay team, the Panthers had several individual honorees on the all-region team. Flemister ranked third in the men's 200m dash with a 21.21 at the USC Invite. The Panthers also had a pair of runners recognized in the men's 800m run as Gore and Murry both earned spots. Murry ranked second in the men's 800m run with a 1:52.11 at the USC Invite while Gore ran the third best time with a 1:52.14 at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Riley rounds out the quartet by ranking first in the men's 400m run with a 46.88 at the USC Invite.
 
With the honors in tow, the Claflin duo of Flemister and Riley will take their talents to the national stage when they compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet this weekend.
