Panthers to Face Central State in Inaugural Black College Invitational Championship

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Claflin Panthers (18-10) will begin play at the Inaugural Black College Invitational Championship on Thursday afternoon when they face the Central State Marauders (17-14) at 2:00 p.m. The two teams will head to Charlotte, North Carolina to face off at Bojangles Coliseum.
 
The Panthers will head into the game with an 18-10 overall record and ending the 2024-25 season with a quarterfinal round loss in the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.
 
The Marauders will head into Thursday's game with a 17-14 overall record and reaching the semifinals of the Savannah State Tigers in the 2025 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Tournament.
 
The tournament will be the first of its kind and will include the best HBCU NCAA Division II basketball teams from the CIAA and the SIAC. The winner of the opening round game will advance to the championship game on Saturday with the loser playing in a consolation game, Friday.
