Hutcherson, Onyekonwu Named to CSC Academic All-District Team
ORANGEBURG, SC - While the Claflin Panthers are known for their efforts on the basketball court, a pair of Panthers were honored for their efforts in the classroom, Tuesday, when senior forward

David Onyekonwu were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The CSC Academic All-District team recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The team recognizes student-athletes who are at least sophomores and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and compete in at least 90% of the institution's games played or must start in 66% of the institution's games.
Hutcherson earned his spot after playing in 29 of the team's 35 games with 19 starts. He also led the Panthers with 12 blocked shots and added 97 total rebounds with 121 total points. He scored a career-high 12 points in the opening game of the Inaugural Black College Invitational Championship.
Onyekonwu played in 28 of the team's 35 games and he added seven blocked shots with 99 rebounds this season. He scored a career-high 12 points in a win over Johnson C. Smith.
