Nine Panthers Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Outdoor Track & Field Team
NEW ORLEANS, LA - The honors just keep coming in for the Claflin University men's track & field team were named to the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team. The all-region team honor goes to the top five individuals and each member of the top three ranked relay teams. In all, nine Panthers were honored across 15 total events.
Individually, the Panthers dominated track events to earn their pots on the team. Junior
Jaevon Riley led the way with honors in two individual events. His top ranking came in the men's 400m hurdles where he is tied for the lead in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region, and he is tied for second in the nation with a 50.81 that he ran at the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Championship Meet. He is also ranked second in the region in the men's 400m run with a 47.16 at the 2025 CIAA Men's Track & Field Championship Meet. Senior Marcus Thomasson joined Riley in the region's top five after ranking fifth in the region with a 52.86 at the 2025 CIAA Men's Track & Field Championship Meet. Senior
Zion Murry earned his spot on the all-region team after ranking first in the region in the men's 800m run. He recorded a 1:49.25 at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge. Junior
Reginald Gore ranked fifth in the region in the men's 800m with a 1:51.92 in the men's 800m run at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge. Junior
Jonathan Flemister is ranked second in the region in the men's 200m dash after running a 20.87 at the Vertklasse Meet hosted by High Point University. Rounding out the individual honorees was senior
Romar Stapleton who is ranked second in the region in the men's 100m dash with a 10.21 at the 2025 CIAA Men's Track & Field Championship Meet.
In addition to recognizing all-region honorees in individual events, the Panthers also earned spots in relay events. The Panthers' 4x100m relay team, comprised of Flemister, Stapleton, junior
Dezmond McDonald, and senior
Jocolbi Morgan, earned a spot with the top time in the region with a 40.30 at the 2025 CIAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet. The Panthers' 4x400m relay team was also recognized with the top time in the region, a 3:09.56 at the Gamecock Invite.
