Lady Panthers Place Third at 2025 CIAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet

DURHAM, NC - The Claflin Lady Panthers finished third at the 2025 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Track & Field Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet. The team totaled 120.5 points to earn their best finish since joining the conference in 2018.
 
Claflin did the bulk of their best work on the track where the team had some great performances. Lady Panther sophomore Jadah Rasool placed second in the women's 100m dash with an 11.91. Fellow sophomore Obiageli Akubude added a second-place finish of her own in the women's 100m hurdles with a 13.79. Freshman Brea Childs added a third-place finish in the women's 200m dash with a 24.72. Freshman Faith Jones placed second in the women's 400m hurdles with a 1:02.21. The Lady Panthers' relay teams also had a big day, winning the women's 4x400m relay with a 3:47.58 and placing second in the women's 4x100m relay with a
 
The Lady Panthers also had some great efforts in the field events as well. Sophomore Jhnyia Knuckles led the way when she won the women's triple jump with a 40'6.25" (12.35m) mark. She was also second in the women's long jump with a 19'6.25" (5.95m) mark. Sophomore Zhaire Mack finished second in the women's javelin throw when she had a 19'6.25" (5.95m) mark as well. Freshman McKenna Swinton placed third in the women's shot put with a 39'10" (12.14m) throw.
 
With the historic finish, the Lady Panthers conclude the 2025 regular season. However, several members will compete in the Lee Last Chance Meet.
