COVINGTON, GA - The Claflin Lady Panthers (5-1) capped an historic day with a second straight major win after defeating the Bowie State Bulldogs (0-4) with a 3-0 victory. The Lady Panthers put on a stellar defensive performance to claim the win.
 
While defense was the key to the win, the Lady Panthers also had a terrific hitting day to claim the win. As a team, the Lady Panthers totaled three runs on eight hits. Claflin junior catcher Jeniah Williams led the way, going two for three at the plate with a double, a run scored, a run scored, and a run batted in (RBI). Fellow junior Michaela Cromarty added a double with two RBI as well.
 
Claflin pitcher Sydra Pendleton (2-0) pitched the Lady Panthers to the win. She started the game and she threw all seven innings. She finished the game with no runs scored and she recorded three strikeouts.
