Seven Panthers Named to 2026 USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Claflin University Panthers have continued to establish themselves as one of the premier teams in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region. The proof was shown when seven Panthers were announced as members of the 2026 United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCA) NCAA Division II All-Region. The Panthers earned their places on the team after ranking among the top five in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region in individual events and among the top three relay teams.
The Panthers did much of their work on the track with three individuals and a relay team earning regional honors. Claflin senior
Jaevon Riley led the way when he ranked first in the region and fifth in the nation in the men's 400m dash with a 46.42 at the Carolina Classic. Fellow senior
Jonathan Flemister ranked second in the region in the men's 200m dash when he ran a 21.26 at the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet. Fellow senior
Reginald Gore ranked second in the men's 800m run with a 1:52.79 at the Carolina Classic. The Panthers' 4x400m relay team ranked first in the region when the team ran a 3:12.05 at the Clemson Opener.
In field events, Claflin freshman
Dontavius Bonner ranked fifth in the men's triple jump when he recorded a 48' 2.25" (14.69m) leap at the 2026 CIAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet.
