Eleven Lady Panthers Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS, LA - After completing an historic season, then an historic amount of honors must soon follow. Eleven Claflin Lady Panthers were named to the 2026 United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team, Wednesday evening. The honors come after the team finished second at the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet, their highest finish in school history.
The Lady Panthers earned their place on the all-region team for ranking among the top five in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region in individual events and among the top three in relay events. Claflin sophomore
Morgan Coverson-Springs led the way for the team when she earned two top-five rankings in track events and one in field events. She leads the region in the women's 200m dash with a 24.17 and in the women's 60m dash with an 8.41. She is also ranked fifth in the region in the women's triple jump with a 39' 8.75" (11.50m) mark in the women's triple jump. Sophomore
Brea Childs also leads the region in the women's 400m with a 55.50 while junior
Jhnyia Knuckles leads the region in the women's triple jump with a 40' 3.75" (12.28m) mark. Freshman Da'Mya Scott is ranked second in the region in the women's 60m hurdles with an 8.58. Junior
Latrice Brown is ranked third in the region in the women's 60m with a 7.60 and she is ranked fifth in the women's 200m with a 24.41. Sophomore
Brea Childs is ranked fourth in the women's 60m hurdles with an 8.61. The Lady Panthers' 4x400m relay team is also ranked third in the region after running a 3:48.79.
