Coverson-Springs Advances to 60m Hurdle Finals at 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - Claflin sophomore sprinter Morgan Coverson-Springs advance to compete for a national championship tomorrow at the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. She placed fourth in the women's 60m hurdles to earn a chance to compete for the national championship in the event, Friday afternoon.
 
Coverson-Springs ran an 8.38 to place fourth in the second heat of the event preliminaries. The time is a personal best for the sophomore from Aiken, South Carolina.
 
By placing fourth Coverson-Springs earned a spot in final round of the event. The top two finishers from each of the three preliminary rounds along with next two top finishers advance to the final round. While she finished third in her heat, her time was better than the third heat winner and fourth best among the qualifiers.
