NEW ORLEANS, LA - After a stellar season, the honors just keep coming in for Claflin University sophomore Morgan Coverson-Springs. She was named the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.

The honor comes after a spectacular indoor track & field season for the Aiken native. This season, Coverson-Springs stepped up to become one of the top athletes in the nation. She finished second in the women's 60m hurdles at the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. She ran an 8.31 to finish second in the nation. With the honor, she earned her place as a USTFCCCA All-American.

At the regional level, Coverson-Springs was dominant as she led the region in the women's 60m hurdles and the women's 200m dash. She also ranked seventh in the region in the women's 60m dash and she even ranked 10th in the region in the women's triple jump.

The honor caps a dynamic season for Coverson-Springs as she also earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Region team in multiple events as well.

With the honors in tow, Coverson-Springs and the Lady Panthers turn their attentions to the outdoor track & field season.
