Coverson-Springs Named CIAA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC - Claflin sophomore Morgan Coverson-Springs continues to bring in honors as she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, Tuesday afternoon. She brought home the honor after a terrific start to the outdoor season at the Black & Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Central Florida.
 
Coverson-Springs opened the outdoor track & field season on a high note with several terrific performances. She ran a 13.43 in the women's 100m hurdles, the second best time in the nation. She also ran a 23.94 in the women's 200m dash, the sixth-best time in the nation. She was also a member of the Lady Panthers' 4x100m relay team that ran a 45.29, the second-best time in the nation.
