Coverson-Springs, Knuckles, 4x100m Relay Selected for 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Members of the Claflin University women's track & field team will be taking their talents to the national stage after members of the team were selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. Sophomore
Morgan Coverson-Springs and junior jumper
Jhnyia Knuckles were selected individually while the Lady Panthers' 4x100m relay team was selected to compete as well.
Coverson-Springs will have the bulk of the duties at national championship meet. She was selected to compete in the women's 100m hurdles and the women's 400m hurdles. She will enter the meet as the fourth ranked competitor in the women's 100m hurdles after running a 13.43 at the Tennessee Invite. She will enter the women's 400m hurdles ranked eighth with a 58.78 which she ran at the 2026 Johnson C. Smith Collegiate Invitational. Coverson-Springs will round out her day competing in the women's 4x100m relay team.
Knuckles earned her spot in the national championship meet in the women's triple jump. She will enter the meet ranked 12
th in the event after recording a 40'8.25" (12.40m) mark at the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic.
The brightest spotlight will be held by the Lady Panthers' 4x100m relay team. The team will enter the meet ranked second after running a 44.34 at the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic. The mark was the second-best time in the nation and it earned a spot in the national championship by the Lady Panthers. The relay team consists of junior

Brea Childs, junior
Jadah Rasool, and Coverson-Springs.
The 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet will be held from Thursday, May 21
st - Saturday, May 23
rd at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
