Coverson-Springs Advances to Finals at NCAA Nationals; Knuckles Places 12th
EMPORIA, KS - The Claflin University Lady Panthers track & field team returned to action, Friday at the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. Claflin sophomore

Jhnyia Knuckles both carried their Claflin pride to the national stage.
Coverson-Springs had a great showing on the track. She ran a 13.56 to earn a seventh place finish in the preliminaries of the women's hurdles. With her effort, she earned a spot in the finals of the event, tomorrow.
While Coverson-Springs represented the Lady Panthers on the track, Knuckles carried her Panther pride in the field events. In the women's triple jump, Knuckles recorded a 39' 10" (12.14m) mark at the meet. With the effort, she earned a 12th place finish in the meet.
Coverson-Springs will return to action tomorrow at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. The women's 100m hurdles are scheduled for a 5:25 p.m. start in the central time zone. The event will occur at 6:25 p.m. on the east coast.
