Leslie Simpson

Ms. Leslie Simpson, Esq.

Leslie Simpson is in her seventh year as the head coach of the Claflin University cheerleading team and her 14th season overall. Upon receiving her Biology degree in 2003, she dedicated her time as a volunteer assistant coach with the cheer squad until being hired as the head coach in September 2013. Simpson focus has been to expand the program to ensure her ladies are recognized as student-athletes and continue to mold the team to be the spirit and pride of her beloved alma mater.
 
From day one, Simpson has shown extreme dedication to the Claflin University Cheerleading program .  She was a four-year member of the EIAC award winning Panther cheerleading squad and a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) All-American. 
 
In 2019, Simpson participated in the South Carolina Bar Leadership Academy.  Also, in 2019 she was named a Phenom by the Columbia Regional Business Report.
 
A native of Houston, Texas, Simpson obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2014. She currently serves as a lawyer-lobbyist with the SC Associations of Counties.
 
Simpson is a member of the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and is certified through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) for Spirit Safety.  She is also a member of the South Carolina Black Lawyers Association, Richland County Bar and the Richland County Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
 
In addition, Simpson spends time mentoring with the University of South Carolina School of Law, Claflin University Pre-Law Society, Claflin University PAW Program and North Springs Middle School G.E.M.S.
