Biography
2024: Jakarriez continued his great career with the Panthers. He steadily improved throughout the entire season. He ran a 29:39.0 in the 8K run at the Sand Shark Invitational before running a career-best 29:04.5 at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Cross-Country Championship Meet. He ran a 29:04.5 to place 24th at the meet.
2023: Jakarriez continued to be another great effort during the 2023 season. He recorded his best 6K time when he ran a 21:56.8 at the Gamecock Challenge/SEC Preview. He also ran at 29:53.1 in the men’s K run at the 2023 Upstate Invitational. He placed 21st at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Cross-Country Championship Meet. He ran a 29:58.3 at the meet.
2022: Jakarriez made an immediate impact on the Panthers with a solid freshman season. His best 5K time of the season came early in his career when he ran an 18:13.8 at the Furman Invitational. He added his best 8K time of the season at the Livingstone XC Invitational where he recorded a 29:31.4.
Personal: Jakarriez joined the Panthers in the fall of 2022. He came to Claflin University as a graduate of Sumter High School where he had a great career in track & field as well as another sport. He was a two-time all-region selection in track & field, and he was also a three-time all-region wrestler. Academically, he was an Honors Graduate from Sumter High School. He is a Sports Management major, and he is the son of Nichelle Wilson.
