2023: Zion continued to have some solid efforts with the Panthers cross-country team. He saved his best 8K run time of the season for the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Cross Country Championship Meet where he ran a 31:14.2. His best 6K time came at the Gamecock Challenge/SEC Preview where he turned in a 23:25.5.

2022: Zion had a solid season with the Panthers in his first as a member of the Panthers’ cross-country team. He competed in five meets for the team. His best 5K time of the season came at the Carolina Challenge where he ran a 20:32.4. His best 8K time of the season came at the 2022 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s Cross-Country Championship Meet where he ran a 31:09.4.
 
Personal: Zion joined the Panthers in the fall of 2021. He came to Claflin after attending Erskine College. He is a graduate of Southside Christian High School. He is the son of April Gambrell.
