Nyesha Arnold

The Claflin University softball program turned to its glorious past to lead its future with the addition of Nyesha Arnold as its assistant softball coach. After a terrific academic and athletic career at Claflin University, she is a terrific choice to assist in helping to guide the future of the program.

Arnold began her coaching career at the high school level as she served as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at nearby Edisto High School where she was a part of the program from 2018-19.

As a former Lady Panther, Arnold is no stranger to Claflin University where she was a four-year letterwinner with the Lady Panthers. She earned several honors including being named the teams’ freshman of the year in 2014 and she earned the defensive player of the year award in 2015. She was also a member of the Lady Panthers’ 2017 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Softball Championship team. Her accomplishments were not limited to the field as she was also selected to take part in the 2017 NCAA Careers in Sports Forum.

Her roots in the sport run deep as she had a terrific high school career at nearby Barnwell High School. She was a three-time all-state selection by the High School Sports Report. During her high school career, she also earned both offensive and defense player of the year honors and she led the team to the 2011 South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) Class AA championship.
