Ricky Holden took the reins as head coach of the Claflin Lady Panthers softball team in the spring of 2024. As one of the bright young minds in collegiate softball, Holden will look to carry on the strong tradition and build upon the legacy of Lady Panthers softball.
Holden began his coaching career at North Carolina A&T State University. While at North Carolina A&T, Holden served as an assistant coach and aided in the Aggies’ recruiting efforts.
Prior to working at North Carolina A&T, Holden served in the United States Air Force in the field of security forces and he also served as the chief executive office of the 501 © (3) nonprofit Youth Connecting Foundation. He has also coached fast-pitch softball since 2016 at the high school and 16/18 and under travel AAU level. Holden’s knowledge of the game is well earned as he played center field during his time in the military.
Holden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Westwood College and he earned master’s degree from North Carolina Central University.
