Biography

2023: Madison continued to have a terrific cross-country career with a great 2023 season. She ran her best 5K time of the season at the Upstate Invitational where she ran a 21:15.1. She placed 32nd at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Cross-Country Championship Meet with a 22:33.7. She ran her best 6K time of the season at the Akiah McMillan Invitational where she recorded a 26:08.8.
 
2022: Madison continued her terrific career with another great season in 2022. She led the team in all five meets of the season. She saved her best 5K performance of the season when the team needed it most as she recorded a 20:18.4 at the 2023 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Cross-Country Championship Meet. The effort earned a 10th place finish and the second straight spot on the 2023 CIAA All-Conference Team. The effort was nearly a minute faster than her 21:03.2 at the Livingstone XC Invitational. 
 
2021: Madison burst onto the scene with a terrific freshman season in 2021 and immediately became one of the top cross-country runners in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). She capped her season in style when she placed sixth in the women’s 5K run at the 2021 CIAA Women’s Cross-Country Championship with a 21:13.2. With the effort, she earned a spot on the 2021 CIAA All-Conference Team. It was her second time running under 22 minutes as she ran a 21:23.6 at the Royals XC Challenge. She also ran a 26:34.7 in the women’s 6K run at the 2021 Koala XC Classic.
 
Personal: Madison joined the Panthers in the fall of 2021. She comes to Claflin University as a graduate of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School where she was as much of a star in the classroom as she was in competition. She was a member of the CHSAA 2020 Indoor Runners Up Team and she was on the Honor roll since the sophomore year of her high school career. She is an Early Childhood Education major, and she is the daughter of Ariana Butler-Bass and Nigel McDonald.
