DDawkins joined the Claflin baseball staff in February 2026 as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. In this role, he developed the Panthers' pitching staff and led recruiting efforts, securing the largest signing class in program history, including the highest-rated prospect ever signed.

Known for his focus on accountability and long-term success, Dawkins has extensive coaching experience in collegiate baseball, high school, and summer leagues. He is also the head coach of the Greenwood Flying Monkeys in the Blue Ridge League, where he built the roster and managed operations during their inaugural season, finishing third.

Before Claflin, Dawkins served as head varsity baseball coach at American Leadership Academy Lexington from 2024 to 2026, achieving a runner-up finish in a tournament and raising $25,000 for the program. He previously coached at R.B. Stall High School, reaching the championship game, and at Pelion High School, where he led the pitching staff to its best season in over a decade.

Dawkins started his head coaching career at North High School in 2022, doubling their previous win total and leading them to the playoffs. Throughout his coaching career, he has maintained a 100% graduation rate and helped numerous players advance to collegiate athletics.

As a player, Dawkins competed at Newberry College and Columbia International University, winning the 2021 NCCAA National Championship. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2022 and was an All-Region selection in high school, finishing second in the Midlands in strikeouts.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes preparation, accountability, and building relationships to help student-athletes reach their potential. He has successfully recruited athletes who have gone on to compete at various colleges, including Claflin University and Anderson University.
