Claflin Edward Waters Split Baseball Double-Header

Box Score Orangeburg, SC- The Claflin University Panthers and Edward Waters Tigers split a twilight double-header baseball contest, with Claflin victorious in game 1, 8-4, while the Tigers won the nightcap 11-3, at historic Mirmow Field.
 
In the first game Claflin took control early as Dalton Tresvant pitched five innings giving up five hits and three runs.  Vicente Ochoa came in relief with the Panthers holding on to a slim one run lead 4-3, and held the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way.  Josh Jones took the loss for Edward Waters.
 
Oscar Otero led the Tigers at the plate going 2-3 with four runs scored. And Joe Lee went 3-4 with three runs scored.
 
The Panthers were led by Julius McDougal going 2-4 with two runs batted in including a homerun.  Cory Huck, 3-4 with two runs scored and a run batted in.  Edward Randolph, 2-3 with two runs scored.  And Travis Griffin, 2-3 with a runs batted in and one run scored.
 
In the nightcap the Tigers turned the tide scoring four runs in the first inning, as Claflin never posed a threat, and cruised to an 11-3 victory.  Butch Lee picked up the win for Edward Waters, while Errol Moore suffered the loss for the Panthers.
 
Oscar Otero once again led the Tigers going 2-3 with four runs scored.  Jerry Lee went 3-4 with four runs scored and three rbi.  Aaron Brooks 2-3 with two runs scored.
 
Julio was a bright spot for Claflin going 1-2 with a homerun.  Travis Griffin went 1-2 with a single to left field.
 
Claflin travels to Greenville, SC, at Fluor Field, for the Jackie Robinson Classic, against Morehouse College, Friday Night at 7:00pm.  Claflin then travels to Atlanta, GA Saturday, to complete the SIAC EAST Division series with a doubleheader against Morehouse College beginning at 1:00pm.
