Claflin Cruise Pass LeMoyne-Owen College, 76-58, in SIAC Men’s Basketball Contest

Memphis, Tenn.—Karee Watson tip-in with 18:25 remaining to give Claflin University its first lead proved to be the spark the Panthers needed as they upended LeMoyne-Owen College, 76-58, in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) men's basketball matchup in Memphis, Tenn.  With the win, the Panthers improved to 6-9 overall and 2-5 in the SIAC.
 
Ryan McNeill-Moses had a solid performance all-around as he ended the game with 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.  Patrell Rogers led the way for Claflin with 19 points and Karee Watson added six points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the win.  De'shon Nails came off the bench to contribute 11 points and five rebounds for the Panthers in the win.
 
LeMoyne-Owen finished the game with three players in double-figures, led by Johnnie McGhee and Larry McGaughey dropped in 14 apiece.  Rashawn Brown scored 11 and Demba Konate pulled in eight rebounds for the Magicians, who dropped to 8-8 overall and 5-2 in the SIAC.   
 
Claflin trailed at the half by three, 34-31.
 
Claflin returns home this Saturday, Jan. 16 when they host Spring Hill College in a SIAC game.  Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. in Tullis Arena. It will be Community Day in Tullis.  Tickets are $5 for all fans.
