Claflin Men Fall by One in Overtime to Albany State

Orangeburg, S.C.—Patrell Rogers scored 14 points and Austin Lawton pulled in 10 rebounds as the Claflin University men's basketball fell to Albany State by one, 68-67, in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest in Tullis Arena.
 
With the loss, the Panthers drop to 7-10 overall and 3-6 in the SIAC while the Golden Rams improves to 3-14 overall and 2-6 in the SIAC.
 
Ryan McNeill-Moses was the only other Panther player to score in double-figures, contributing 12 points.  Karee Watson scored seven points with seven rebounds and De'Shon Nails came off the bench to pull in seven rebounds.  Lawton also contributed seven points and four blocks in the game.
 
Albany State had four players to score in double figures.  Lance Dixon, Keldreion Miller, Khaliq Hughes, and Earl Farnum all had 10 points apiece. Michael Green had eight points while Farnum pulled in six rebounds for the Golden Rams in the win.
 
Claflin will return to action this Saturday, Jan. 23 when they host Fort Valley State in a 3:30 p.m. SIAC contest.  It will be Human Services Day.  All members of the Police, Fire, EMS, Nurses, and Physicians with proper identification will be admitted for $5.
