Claflin Goes 2-0 on Day Two of the 2017 SIAC Softball Crossover

Jasper, Ala. -- The Claflin University softball team went 2-0 on day two of the 2017 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Crossover Tournament in Jasper, Ala.
 
The tournament, which concludes tomorrow, Saturday (March 18), is being contested at Memorial Park in Jasper.
 
Claflin defeated Kentucky State, 6-5, in the first game of the day and Miles College, 6-1, its second game of the day.
 
Senior Chelsea Hall ran a 10.8 during the base running contest to earn the Fastest Base Runner Award for the tournament.
 
Hall also led the team offensively on the day with four runs, four hits, including two triples and a homerun to lead off game two.
 
Shaquailla German and Tiaria Norman picked up the wins in games one and two, respectively.
 
Norman also picked up a save in game two.
 
Claflin will face LeMoyne-Owen at 1:15 p.m. (EST) and will close out the tournament against Tuskegee at 5:54 p.m. (EST) Saturday.
