Claflin Falls to Armstrong State for a Second Time This Season

Savannah, Ga.—The Claflin University baseball team fell to Armstrong State for a second time this season, dropping a 21-2 non-conference decision in Savannah.
 
With the loss the Panthers fall to 6-18 overall. Armstrong State improves to 14-11 on the season.  The win enabled the Pirates to snap an eight game slide.
 
Claflin could not find much offense over the course of the nine innings.  The Panthers scored two runs with one RBI in the contest.
 
Darrell Langston went 3-for-4 with one run and Johnny Stevenson came off the bench to go 1-for-1 with one run to provide the Panthers with its only runs on the day.
 
The Panthers did manage to have 10 hits in the contest including a triple by Langston.
 
Armstrong State, who had 19 total hits, was led by Zack Goble who went 4-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.  Caleb Slaughter and Mike Warren scored three runs each for the Pirates.
 
Claflin will return to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play this weekend when they face Morehouse College in the Low Country Classic in Charleston, Friday-Sunday, March 24-26.
 
Friday and Sunday's game will be played at Collins Park in North Charleston while Saturday's game will be played at West Ashley High School in Charleston.
