Claflin Falls to Florida Southern in a Non-conference Doubleheader

Auburnale, Fla. – The Claflin University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Florida Southern, falling in game one 5-4 and in game two 10-2.
 
The losses drop the Lady Panthers to 9-11 overall.  Florida Southern improves to 12-8.
 
Chelsea Hall paced Claflin on the day with three runs off three hits, including a triple and a homerun and a RBI.
 
Lakaylin Lee had two hits with one run and a RBI and Chelise Morman had one run and one hit in game one.
 
Shaquailla German hit her third homerun of the season in game one.
 
Florida Southern was led Leah Pemberton with two runs with two runs and three RBIs.  Erica Morrissey had four runs with two hits and one RBI for the Mocs in the win.
 
Tiaria Norman and Lee were the losing pitchers in games one and two, respectively.
 
After six games on the road, Claflin will return to the confines of home this weekend, Saturday-Sunday, March 10-11, to host Albany State University in its Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opener.
 
First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. while Sunday's single game will get underway at 2 p.m
 
All Lady Panthers home games are played at the Adden Street Field in Orangeburg.
