Claflin Drop Non-Conference Decision to USC Aiken

Aiken, S.C. – Triston Thompson scored a team-high 16 points with five assists as the Claflin Panthers dropped a five-point decision, 83-78, to USC Aiken at the USC Convocation Center.
 
The loss drops the Panthers to 0-2 on the season.  USC Aiken improves to 3-0.
 
The Panthers had three players to score in double-figures as Danny Brown dropped in 12 and Rodney Prichard contributed 11 in the contest.  Cornellius Reynolds scored seven points with a game-high nine rebounds while Romero Hill also added seven points in the game.
 
USC Aiken was led by Brock Faison who had a game-high 17- points and six rebounds.  The Pacers also finished the game with three players in double-figures as Doniel Dean and Xzavier Barmore had 15 and 13 points, respectively.  Dean and Barmore also pulled in six rebounds each.
 
Claflin outrebounded USC Aiken 40-33 and finished the game with a better field goal percentage at 47.9 to 39.7.
 
The Panthers trailed at the half by one, 38-37.
 
Claflin will return to action this Saturday, Nov. 17, when they host Tuskegee University for Homecoming.  Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
