Claflin Softball Pick Up First Win of the Season

Orangeburg, S.C.—The Claflin University softball team defeated Southern Wesleyan 8-0 in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader at the Adden Street Field in Orangeburg to pick up their first win of the season.  The Lady Panthers fell to the Knights 3-1 in game two.
 
The Split takes Claflin season record to 1-7 while Southern Wesleyan improves to 2-6.
 
LaKaylin Lee paced the Lady Panthers on the day, finishing the doubleheader with four hits, including two doubles in game one, with two runs an RBI and two walks.
 
Chelise Morman had two runs with one hit and Kayla Cato scored one run with one hit and one RBI on the day.
 
Southern Wesleyan was led in game two Makaila Irby with one run and one hit.  Becca White had a hit and a RBI in the game two win.
 
Claflin will return to action this Sunday, Feb. 18 when they travel to Greenwood, S.C. to face Lander University in a non-conference doubleheader.
