Claflin Drops Non-conference Doubleheader to Georgia College

Milledgeville, Ga. (3-13-18) --  The Claflin University softball team fell to Georgia College, 5-4 and 19-1, in a non-conference doubleheader at Peeler Complex in Milledgeville, Ga.
 
With the losses, the Lady Panthers fall to 10-15 overall.  Georgia College improves to 15-9 on the season.
 
Claflin played a solid first game, knocking out five hits with four runs.
 
LaKaylin Lee and Saeviah Conyers scored one run with one run with one hit each.
 
Kayla Cato finished the game with three hits including a double and four RBIs in the loss.
 
Tiaria Norman, who went innings was the losing record of note.
 
Game two belonged to Georgia College.  The Wolves scored five runs in the first, three in the second, five in the third, and six in the fourth en route to their 19 runs.
 
Claflin lone run came in the top of the third as Conyers scored off a single up the middle by Lee.
 
Lee was the losing pitcher of record of game two.
 
Claflin will continue its road swing this Thursday-Saturday (March 15-17), when they head to Jasper, Ala., to participate in the 2018 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) crossover
