Claflin Goes 1-1 on Day Two of the 2018 SIAC Crossover

Jasper, Ala.—The Claflin University softball team went 1-1 on day two of the 2018 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Crossover Tournament in Jasper, Ala.
 
The tournament, which concludes tomorrow, Saturday (March 17), is being contested at Memorial Park in Jasper.
 
Claflin defeated Miles College 5-0 in its opening game of the day and fell to Spring Hill College 3-2 its second game.
 
Chelise Morman led Claflin offensively on the day.  Morman had two homeruns (one in each game) and three total hits with two runs on the day.
 
Jada Ames also had a productive day at the plate finishing with two hits, both homeruns, along with a walk.
 
Kayla Cato homered in game one for Claflin, who improved to 13-16 overall and 6-1 in the SIAC.
 
On the day, Claflin finished the day with five runs and six hits across the two games.

Tiaria Norman went 1-1 on the mound.
 
Claflin will face Lane at 1:15 p.m. (EST) and will close out the tournament against Tuskegee at 3:30 p.m. (EST) Saturday.
